In August, 2008, the Howell-MOP Internet Café & Computer Skills Center officially celebrated its Grand Opening. Earlier in 2008, OA was able to procure a number of computers. Then, with generous donations from OA donors, and with the enthusiasm and know-how of volunteer Carrie, from North Carolina, the internet café and computer skills center became a reality. The café will provide income for MOP widows— a place for them to hone their business skills while providing a much-needed service to the community. The computers are also available to teach computer skills to both widows and orphans. Now we need volunteers on an on-going basis, who are willing to teach computer basics as well as advanced skills! |
